Strategy

Always select top lanes for skill shot. Hit all 5 major shots (Guard shots) to begin Guard Millions. Collect all 5 characters (2 shots to each Guard shot) to start Tourist Season. Shoot a Guard shot 3 times to start a mode. Time out Copter Rescue and, potentially, Shark Cove modes, other modes valuable and less dangerous. Complete Guard shots 3 times each to qualify Earthquake, start at right VUK. After playing Earthquake, modes can be replayed with +1 shots needed to start.

Skill Shot

🥇Select “top lane” for skill shot, worth 10M on ball 1, 20M on ball 2, 30M on ball 3 and then awarded 50M bonus for getting skill shot on all 3 balls. (Total 110M) + enable squid pops which is 2M per bumper hit for remainder of the ball.

Ruleset

Modes and multiballs both worth huge value, well balanced

Critical to shoot all 5 major shots.

  • First time to a shot scores a letter in G U A R D

  • Second shot scores a character

  • Third shot starts a mode

  • Collect all letters in G U A R D and Guard Millions starts, shoot all major shots on a countdown from 50M.

  • Collect all characters and Tourist Season starts, a 2-ball MB. Shoot right ramp on repeat.

Modes:

  • CPR - shoot 1 shot to each of the 3 ramps (50M, 60M, 70M)

  • Diver Trapped - shoot any hole in the game. Shoot the one on the right, ski pass to left flipper and repeat.

  • Tidal Wave - shoot either orbit to feed the upper left flipper to make the side ramp. Make 3 side ramps to complete the mode.

  • ❌ Shark Cove - Generally a drain risk from needing the shark target bank on the left. Shoot the stand ups to kill a shark and earn 10M. One time you can shoot the hole just below the upper left flipper and kill all sharks currently on the display.

  • ❌ Copter Rescue - Worst of the modes. Shoot yellow targets, all of which are draingerous. Better to time out mode instead of playing it.

Multiball:

  • Complete the 3 drop targets in the center of the playfield, to the left of the right ramp, to qualify a lock at the left ramp. Lock 3 balls to start MB.

  • During MB make all 5 major shots for jackpot, briefly lights all other Guard shots for double jackpot.

  • Each Jackpot saves a swimmer, get all 5 swimmers and light shark targets for super jackpot

  • Collect super jackpot and the double super jackpot is lit on the side ramp from the upper left flipper

  • If no jackpots collected, restart MB at the left ramp (15 second timer)

Earthquake: 5-ball MB.

  • Qualify by hitting all 5 guard shots 3 times

  • Start by shooting the VUK from the center shot.

  • Unlimited saves for 45-secs, shoot left ramp as many times as possible

Video Mode: Sequence is center, center, right, left, left, die - worth lots of points

Iron Man: Complete side ramp a number of times to start video sequence. Mash flipper buttons as fast as possible to win the race, win 55M.

Shark Shot: Use the mini flipper on the right to shoot across the playfield into the shark scoop to award a shark credit.

  • 1st award (1 credit) is 10M + video mode

  • 2nd award (3 credits) 20M + left outlane kickback is active for the rest of the ball

Bonus X: Complete the 3 top lanes to spell S P F, each completion is +1 Bonus X up to 10X, further completions award 20M.
